Aaargh
I can think of nothing worse than having all your work done and being forced to wait around for a meeting that starts when you are actually supposed to be done for the day, all the while knowing you will not be partcipating in the least. Dammit.
Can't you tell them you suddenly forgot all of your Japanese, and no longer have any cultural understanding of reponsibility? By the way, how did your open class go?

it went beautifully. people seemed to be impressed and Yoshigi sensei was excellent.
